Zoom Setup and Equipment

This Zoom setup is a wireless two-mic system with your setting for playing music and singing with other Zoom participants.

Stating in the Zoom home page before opening a new meeting.

In Zoom, open the Mic button at the bottom left of the screen.

  • Select the Microphone (choose) Focusrite Scarlett audio as your source.

  • Then at the bottom of the list, open the Audio Setting.

  • Uncheck the Automatically adjust the microphone volume.

  • Audio Profile: you can try Auto (noise suppression) first and try playing music and see how this works for your needs, but you may need to change this to one of the other settings. Think of it this way. If you are having a song playing by using screen share (also see share setting next) and you are on a microphone, and other people in the room are also singing, you may need to pick the amount of noise suppression that works best for you.

  • Drop to the bottom of the settings page and open the Advanced button.

  • You can leave the Echo to Auto at this time. Keep in mind this setting in case you need it later.

  • Under Signal Processing, I am leaving this to Auto at this time.

Next - After starting your meeting, you can recheck these settings.

Moving on to the Screen Share page.

  • In the bottom left corner, check the share sound box.

  • If it is an audio sound file and not a page with the video, you may need to go to the advanced setting at the top and select Computer Audio.

  • I will try making a video of all this.
